Clear Aligners

  • What are the Orthlane invisible aligners ?

Orthlane invisible aligners, called as well Orthlane clear aligners or clear caps, are transparent medical devices produced from a medical grade material according to European standards. They are designed to perfectly fit the shape of your teeth. Throughout your treatment, they will gradually shift your teeth until you reach the result prescribed by your Orthlane practitioner.

  • How do Orthlane invisible aligners straighten my teeth ?

We will send to your home the full series of custom aligners prescribed by your Orthlane practitioner. You should wear each pair of aligners between two to three weeks as exactly prescribed by your practitioner in your treatment plan. Aligners are designed to fit perfectly to your teeth and correct their positioning gradually.
Aligners work by using a carefully calibrated force to move your teeth into a new position, forcing the body gently and gradually to adjust. Each pair of clear caps is a unique model of your teeth printed in 3D. It is designed to move your teeth in different positions throughout the treatment. Your teeth will gradually move from their current position to that ultimate one of aligned teeth.

  • How long it takes to receive my invisible aligners ?

It takes about 2 weeks to receive your clear caps since the date of acceptance of the treatment plan and your payment. By logging into your personal account, you can track the progress of your order. Do not hesitate to contact us to find out more about the status of your order.

  • Can I order aligners only for the upper or lower teeth if I plan to straighten only one arch ?

For a better result, Orthlane practitioners recommend aligning the two arches simultaneously. Indeed, teeth straightening affects your dental occlusion (bite). To maintain normal occlusion, the upper and lower teeth should be moved simultaneously. Thus, even if the problem of overlap or space between teeth concerns only the lower or upper teeth, the two arches must remain symmetrical, which implies the adjustment of the opposite arch.

  • Why are the Orthlane clear caps edges cut following the shape of the teeth ?

Orthlane transparent aligners are cut following the shape of your teeth. This cutting choice is made for the sake of a better efficiency. Indeed, several studies have shown that cutting few millimeters beyond the gums lead to an optimal work force. In addition, this cut avoids the need for dental attaches that are neither comfortable nor well-looking.

  • What are the materials used in the manufacturing of the Orthlane transparent aligners? Where are they manufactured ? Are they EC certified ?

Transparent aligners are made of flexible bioplastic without bisphenol A (BPA) medical grade. They will not irritate your gums or your tongue.
Orthlane aligners are manufactured in France and are certified according to strict European standards.

  • Are the clear aligners really transparent ?

Orthlane aligners are transparent. Hardly can anyone notice you are wearing aligners.

  • How do I clean my invisible aligners ?

To clean your aligners, simply rinse with cold water. You can also use toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush for deeper cleansing. Never rinse your caps with hot water or immerse them in a mouthwash or denture cleaner solutions.

  • How do my removable retainers look like (post-treatment “aligners”) ?

Your post-treatment retainers look and feel almost the same as your aligners. They are made from the same material. However, they might feel slightly thicker.

  • How do my removable retainers work (post-treatment “aligners”) ?

Post-treatment aligners, also called removable retainers or simply retainers, do not apply any force to your teeth. They simply maintain your new smile. This is the passive phase of your dental alignment treatment, like any other orthodontic alignment technique.

For example, your photos would not be useful if they are too dark, too blurry or have too much flash. Similarly, they would not be useful if they do not show the essential details such as the occlusal surfaces (the part of the teeth that you use to chew) or the junction of your gum.
